Use this interactive demo to learn how to insert a scanned signature in Adobe Acrobat.

‍

‍

In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to insert a scanned signature in Adobe Acrobat:

‍

  1. Scan or take a photo of your signature, saving it as a PNG or JPG.
  2. Open your PDF in Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  3. On the right-side pane, click Fill & Sign.
  4. Click Sign Yourself, then click Add Signature.
  5. Select and upload the signature image you prepared, then click Open.
  6. Click anywhere in the document to place the signature. Drag to move it and resize if needed.
  7. Click Close to exit Fill & Sign options.

📌 Why this matters

Adding your scanned signature to PDFs lets you sign contracts, forms, and legal documents without printing, signing by hand, and scanning them back. This saves hours on document turnarounds and eliminates the back-and-forth of physical paperwork.

Beyond convenience, a digitally inserted signature maintains the document's original formatting and quality, unlike printed versions that often look unprofessional with alignment issues or poor print quality. You can also resize and position your signature perfectly every time, creating consistent, polished documents that reflect your professionalism.
