Here is a simple alternative way to create a hyperlink in Adobe InDesign using a button. When the button’s action is set to ‘Go to URL,’ it functions just like a traditional hyperlink:

1. Right-click the text box or shape frame, then select 'Interactive' → 'Convert to Button.'
2. Once the Buttons and Forms panel opens, set the destination to ‘Go to URL,’ which will function the same as a traditional hyperlink when clicked.
3. Embed your link in the URL text box, which will direct the user to the specified webpage.‍
4. Test your interactive button by clicking the bottom-left preview icon or selecting ‘View Spread: EPUB.’ Once everything is final, export your file as a PDF (Interactive).
