Here is a simple alternative way to create a hyperlink in Adobe InDesign using a button. When the button’s action is set to ‘Go to URL,’ it functions just like a traditional hyperlink:
- Right-click the text box or shape frame, then select 'Interactive' → 'Convert to Button.'
- Once the Buttons and Forms panel opens, set the destination to ‘Go to URL,’ which will function the same as a traditional hyperlink when clicked.
- Embed your link in the URL text box, which will direct the user to the specified webpage.
- Test your interactive button by clicking the bottom-left preview icon or selecting ‘View Spread: EPUB.’ Once everything is final, export your file as a PDF (Interactive).
