Quick summary
To free up space in Dropbox, you need to delete unwanted files or folders and then permanently delete them from the Deleted files section to actually recover storage. If you need more capacity, you can upgrade your Dropbox plan directly from account Settings.
Steps
- Log in to your Dropbox account at www.dropbox.com.
- Select the folders or files you want to remove and click Delete.
- Confirm the deletion by clicking Delete in the confirmation prompt.
- Navigate to Deleted files in the left sidebar.
- Select all items in the Deleted files folder and click Permanently delete.
- Enter your password to confirm, then click Permanently delete.
- Go to Settings and click Upgrade to explore larger storage options if needed.
- Review and choose a plan that fits your storage needs.
- Fill in the required fields and click Purchase to complete your plan upgrade.
