How to Fax from Adobe Acrobat

Use this interactive demo to learn how to fax documents directly from Adobe Acrobat.

‍

‍

In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to fax a document from Adobe Acrobat using an online fax service.

‍

Note: Adobe Acrobat does not send faxes directly. You need an online fax provider (for example, eFax, Fax.Plus, or WiseFax).

‍

  1. Open your PDF in Adobe Acrobat.
  2. Edit the PDF if needed, then save the file.
  3. Log in to your online fax service provider.
  4. Select the option to send a new fax.
  5. Upload your PDF and follow the on-screen instructions.
  6. Enter the recipient’s fax number.
  7. Click Continue/Send.

📌 Why this matters

Faxing from Adobe Acrobat lets you send legally binding documents that many industries still require in fax format, while maintaining the professional formatting and digital signatures your PDFs already contain. This workflow bridges the gap between modern document management and traditional business requirements.

Your contracts, medical records, and legal filings retain their exact formatting and embedded security features during transmission, eliminating the need to print, scan, or recreate documents just to meet fax requirements.
