Use this interactive demo to learn how to pull and download a report directly from Salesforce CRM.

Quick summary

Exporting a report from Salesforce takes just a few clicks using the App Launcher and the Export button inside the Reports module. This step-by-step walkthrough shows exactly where to navigate and which settings to confirm before downloading your data.

Steps

  1. Click the App Launcher icon at the top of the Salesforce dashboard.
  2. Scroll down in the App Launcher and select Reports.
  3. Choose and open a report from the Reports list.
  4. Click the dropdown button beside the Edit button inside the open report.
  5. Select Export from the dropdown menu.
  6. Configure your export settings, then click Export to download the report.

📌 Why this matters

Salesforce stores enormous volumes of sales and CRM data, but teams often need that data outside the platform for analysis, sharing, or compliance. The built-in report export feature lets users download Salesforce reports as formatted files in just a few steps, without any admin help or third-party tools. This saves time, reduces dependency on technical teams, and ensures decision-makers always have access to accurate, up-to-date CRM data. Knowing how to export Salesforce reports is an essential skill for sales reps, managers, and analysts who rely on data-driven insights.
