Use this interactive demo to learn how to pull opportunity data out of Salesforce using the built-in Data Export tool.

Quick summary

Salesforce's Data Export feature lets admins export Opportunity records directly from Setup without needing a third-party tool. The entire process takes just a few clicks inside Advanced Setup and delivers a downloadable file of your CRM data.

Steps

  1. Click the gear icon at the top right of the Salesforce dashboard to open setup options.
  2. Select Open Advanced Setup from the dropdown menu.
  3. In the Quick Find search box, search for and select Data Export.
  4. Click Export Now to initiate the export process.
  5. Choose Opportunity as the data type for the export.
  6. Click Start Export to confirm and begin the export.
  7. Wait for confirmation that your data is being exported and will be available for download.

📌 Why this matters

Exporting Opportunities from Salesforce gives sales ops and revenue teams a clean, portable snapshot of their pipeline data for reporting, auditing, or migrating to other tools. Salesforce's native Data Export feature eliminates the need for third-party connectors, making it a fast and secure way to pull CRM records. Understanding this workflow is essential for any admin managing data governance, backups, or cross-platform integrations. It ensures teams can access and act on their Opportunity data outside of Salesforce whenever needed.
