Use this interactive demo to learn how to export report data from Google Analytics in a few clicks.

Quick summary

Exporting data from Google Analytics lets you download Traffic, Engagement, or User reports as a PDF, CSV, or Excel file for offline analysis and sharing. This step-by-step walkthrough shows you exactly how to select a report, set a date range, and use the Share and Download options to export your data.

Steps

  1. Go to Reports in the Google Analytics left navigation menu.
  2. Select the Report you want to export — such as Traffic, Engagement, or Users.
  3. Select the date range for the data you want to include in the export.
  4. Hit Apply to confirm your date range selection.
  5. Click on the Share sign (share icon) in the top-right area of the report.
  6. Select the Download option from the share menu.
  7. Choose your preferred export format — PDF, CSV, or Excel — and download your report.

📌 Why this matters

Exporting data from Google Analytics is essential for teams that need to analyze website traffic, engagement, and user behavior outside the platform. The ability to download reports as PDF, CSV, or Excel files makes it easy to share insights with stakeholders, build custom dashboards, or feed data into external reporting tools. Whether you are tracking session sources, monitoring acquisition performance, or preparing a client report, Google Analytics data export gives you full control over your analytics data. This feature bridges the gap between raw platform data and actionable business decisions.
