Quick summary
To export an account list from Salesforce, you create a new Accounts report using the Reports tab, save it, then use the report's dropdown menu to export the data in your preferred file format. This process works in any Salesforce edition and requires no admin permissions.
Steps
- Click the Reports tab at the top of the dashboard, or open it from the App Launcher.
- Click New Report to start building a fresh report.
- In the report type selector, choose Accounts & Contacts or Accounts.
- Click Continue to proceed to the report builder.
- Inside the Accounts report, click Save at the top of the table to save your report.
- Return to the reports homepage, select your account list report, then open the dropdown on the right side of the report row.
- Select Export from the dropdown menu.
- Choose your preferred export format, then click Export to download the file.
