Use this interactive demo to learn how to activate dark mode across your Salesforce org.

Quick summary

Salesforce admins can enable dark mode org-wide by editing the active theme inside Themes and Branding under Advanced Setup. This feature, currently in Beta, lets individual users toggle a darker interface to reduce eye strain and improve readability.

Steps

  1. Click the gear icon in the top-right menu of the Salesforce dashboard to open settings.
  2. Select Open Advanced Setup from the dropdown menu.
  3. In the Quick Find search box, search for and select Themes and Branding.
  4. Find and select the current active theme from the list.
  5. Click the dropdown on the right side of the theme and choose Edit.
  6. Scroll down to the Dark Mode (Beta) section and click Let users enable dark mode.
  7. Click Save to apply the changes and activate dark mode for your org.

📌 Why this matters

Enabling dark mode in Salesforce gives admins a simple way to improve the user experience for their entire org without custom code or third-party tools. The Dark Mode (Beta) feature, accessible through Themes and Branding in Advanced Setup, reduces screen glare and eye fatigue for users working long hours in Salesforce. By activating this setting, administrators empower every user to choose a display preference that suits their environment, boosting comfort and productivity. It takes under two minutes to configure and applies instantly across the platform.
