Steps

  1. Click the App Launcher icon at the top of the dashboard.
  2. Scroll down in the App Launcher and select Reports.
  3. Choose a report from the list, then open the dropdown menu on the right side of that report.
  4. Click Export from the dropdown options.
  5. Select Details Only as the Export View and choose Excel as the file format.
  6. Click Export to download the report as an Excel file.

📌 Why this matters

Salesforce is the world's leading CRM platform, and the ability to export reports directly to Excel is essential for sales teams, analysts, and managers who need to share, manipulate, or present CRM data outside the platform. Downloading Salesforce reports to Excel enables offline analysis, custom formatting, and easy distribution to stakeholders who may not have Salesforce access. This feature bridges the gap between real-time CRM data and the spreadsheet workflows that most business teams rely on daily. Mastering this export process saves time and ensures accurate, up-to-date data is always available in a universally accessible format.
