This step-by-step walkthrough covers the entire dispute process from finding the claim to awaiting the final decision.
Steps
- Go to studio.youtube.com, click Content, find the video with the claim, and click the Copyright claim link in the Restrictions column.
- On the claim details page, click Take action.
- Review the Overview, then select your Reason and click Continue to proceed.
- Select Dispute and click Continue.
- Confirm that you have permission to use the content, then proceed to the Rationale section.
- Enter your explanation (include a source or license link if applicable), check all required boxes, add your full name as a signature, and click Submit.
- Wait for the review — YouTube will notify you once a decision is made.
