Quick summary
Crediting a YouTube video correctly involves adding a video credit line to your video description in YouTube Studio and pinning a credit comment so viewers can easily find the original source. This two-step method ensures proper attribution and keeps your channel compliant with content creator etiquette.
Steps
- Go to studio.youtube.com and click Content in the left sidebar.
- Click the title or thumbnail of the video you want to edit.
- In the Description field, scroll to a clear section — typically the bottom — and add a credits line formatted as: Video credit: [Channel Name] - [Video URL], then click Save.
- Go to the published video on YouTube and leave a comment with the credit details.
- Click the three-dot menu on your own comment and select Pin so it stays visible at the top of the comments section.
