Use this interactive demo to learn how to generate AI-powered video captions for your Buffer posts.

Quick summary

Buffer's AI Assistant lets you instantly generate video captions for social posts by entering a text prompt and clicking Generate. You can then refine the caption by rephrasing, shortening, expanding, or adjusting the tone before inserting it into your post.

Steps

  1. Inside Buffer's Create Post panel, click AI Assistant.
  2. Write a detailed text prompt describing the video caption you want to generate, then enter it into the input field.
  3. Tap Generate to produce the AI-written caption.
  4. Review the caption and use the editing options to rephrase, shorten, expand, or adjust the tone to be more casual or formal.
  5. Click Insert to add the finalized caption to your post.
  6. The AI-generated video caption is now created and added to your Buffer post.

📌 Why this matters

Writing engaging video captions for every social channel is time-consuming and inconsistent. Buffer's built-in AI Assistant lets social media managers generate, refine, and insert high-quality video captions in seconds — directly inside the post composer. By combining prompt-based AI generation with one-click tone and length controls, Buffer eliminates the manual copywriting bottleneck that slows down content teams. This makes it easier to maintain a consistent brand voice across all channels while publishing more content in less time.
