The SurveyMonkey Date/Time question lets you collect structured date and time responses from survey participants with built-in format validation. This feature is ideal for scheduling, event planning, and any use case where gathering specific date preferences from respondents is required.
Steps
- Go to the Build section from the left-hand menu of your survey editor.
- Drag and drop the Date/Time question type or click Add to insert it into your survey.
- Enter your question text in the provided field.
- Enter a row label that will appear just above the date/time input textboxes.
- Use the + or - icons to add or remove rows as needed.
- Choose whether to collect Date Info, Time Info, or both.
- If collecting Date Info, select your preferred date format: MM/DD/YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY.
- Customize the date validation message to guide respondents who enter an incorrect format.
- Click the Tab icon to configure any additional question options.
- Enable the required answer checkbox to make the question mandatory for all respondents.
- Click Save to apply all your question settings.
- Your Date/Time question is now ready to efficiently gather date preferences from participants.
