Use this interactive demo to learn how to add and arrange gadgets on your Jira dashboard.

Quick summary

Jira dashboard gadgets let teams surface real-time project data — such as sprint progress, issue statistics, and workload — in a single, customizable view. You can create a dashboard, add multiple gadgets, adjust the layout, and drag and drop widgets to organize information exactly how your team needs it.

Steps

  1. In the top navigation, click the Dashboards dropdown and select Create Dashboard.
  2. Name your dashboard and add a description.
  3. Add viewers and editors if needed, then hit Save.
  4. In the top-right corner, click Add gadget.
  5. Select a gadget from the right pane and click Add.
  6. Confirm the gadget has been added to your dashboard.
  7. Click Change layout in the top-right to adjust the dashboard layout.
  8. Drag and drop gadgets to reorganize and arrange information on your dashboard.

📌 Why this matters

Jira dashboard gadgets give agile teams a centralized, real-time view of project health, sprint progress, and issue tracking without switching between multiple screens. By creating a custom Jira dashboard and adding targeted gadgets, project managers and developers can surface the metrics that matter most to their workflow. The ability to change layouts and drag and drop gadgets means every team member can personalize their view for maximum productivity. This makes Jira dashboards an essential tool for teams that need actionable project visibility at a glance.
