Quick summary

SendGrid's Marketing Contacts feature lets you create and manage contact lists directly from your dashboard in just a few clicks. Once a list is saved, you can populate it by adding contacts manually or uploading a CSV file for bulk import.

Steps

  1. On the SendGrid dashboard, open the left-side panel and click Marketing.
  2. Select Contacts from the Marketing menu options.
  3. Click the Create button located at the top-right corner of the Contacts page.
  4. Choose New List to start creating a contact list.
  5. Enter a unique List Name and click Save List to confirm.
  6. Your basic contact list is now created — you can add contacts manually or upload a CSV file to populate it.

📌 Why this matters

Organizing recipients into dedicated contact lists is essential for running targeted email marketing campaigns in SendGrid. The Marketing Contacts feature allows teams to segment their audience from the start, ensuring the right messages reach the right people. By creating named lists and populating them via manual entry or CSV upload, marketers can maintain clean, structured subscriber data that drives better deliverability and engagement. This workflow is a foundational step for any business looking to scale personalized email outreach through SendGrid.
