Notion's template button lets you insert reusable blocks — like calendars, checklists, and task layouts — into any page with a single click. Setting one up takes under two minutes using the /template slash command and the block action menu.
Steps
- Click on a blank area inside the Notion page editor to place your cursor.
- Type /template to open the block command menu.
- Click Button from the dropdown menu to insert a template button block.
- Name your button, such as New Weekly Calendar or New Task Template.
- Under the button action, click New action.
- In the action menu, click Insert blocks.
- Add the content you want to reuse — such as headings, checklists, tables, calendar sections, or task details — inside the template area.
- Repeat the same process to add more blocks to your template.
- Click Done at the bottom of the settings panel to save the template.
- Click your template button to test it and insert the blocks into your Notion page.
- Your Notion template is now ready to reuse whenever you need the same layout or content again.
