A Salesforce Permission Set lets admins grant specific users access to features and data without changing their profile. This demo walks through every step to create, configure, and save a new Permission Set from Salesforce Setup.
Steps
- Go to Setup in the top right corner of Salesforce.
- In the Quick Find box, enter "Permission Sets" and select it from the results.
- Create a new set by clicking New.
- In the Label field, give your Permission Set a clear name (e.g., "Sales User Permissions").
- Review the label and confirm the name is descriptive before proceeding.
- Scroll down to find System Permissions on the Permission Set detail page.
- Click on System Permissions to open the permissions list.
- Select the specific permissions users with this set will have (e.g., "Create Leads," "Edit Opportunities").
- Click Save to create the Permission Set, then assign it to the appropriate users.
