Use this interactive demo to learn how to duplicate and reschedule an existing post in Buffer.

Quick summary

Buffer's copy post feature lets you duplicate any scheduled post and reschedule it to a new date and time without rebuilding content from scratch. This saves time for social media managers who need to repurpose high-performing posts across their content calendar.

Steps

  1. Go to Publish in the top menu.
  2. Navigate to Scheduled and select All Posts to locate the post you want to copy.
  3. Find the post you want to copy and click on it to open it.
  4. Click the ellipsis (⋮) icon, then select Duplicate from the menu.
  5. Click the dropdown arrow next to "Add to Queue" to reveal additional scheduling options.
  6. Click Schedule Post to choose a specific date and time for the duplicated post.
  7. Choose a custom date and time for your post to be published.
  8. Click Schedule to finalize and save your duplicated post.

📌 Why this matters

Being able to copy and reschedule posts in Buffer is essential for social media teams that rely on content repurposing to maintain a consistent publishing cadence. Instead of recreating high-performing posts manually, the duplicate feature lets users instantly clone any scheduled post and assign it a new date and time. This streamlines content calendar management, reduces repetitive work, and ensures that evergreen or seasonal content can be reshared with minimal effort. For teams managing multiple channels, this feature is a practical time-saver built directly into Buffer's Publish workflow.
