This is a step-by-step guide for converting images to CMYK in Adobe InDesign.
Note: InDesign doesn’t allow direct RGB-to-CMYK conversion inside the app, but you can apply the conversion when exporting the file.
- To convert images to CMYK during export in Adobe InDesign, go to the top menu and click ‘File.’
- Select ‘Export’ to open the Export dialog box.
- Choose ‘Adobe PDF (Print)’ as the format, then click ‘Save’ when finished.
- A new Export PDF panel will open. Go to the ‘Output’ tab.
- Set Color Conversion to ‘Convert to Destination (Preserve Numbers)’ from the dropdown menu.
- Then, choose a CMYK profile from the Destination dropdown menu. Click 'Export’ when done.
