Cleaning your GetResponse contact list involves using Advanced Search to segment inactive subscribers by inactivity conditions, then bulk-deleting them to improve email deliverability and campaign performance.

Steps

  1. From the dashboard, click on the Contacts tab.
  2. Go to the Search tab within the Contacts section.
  3. Click Advanced search to access detailed filtering options.
  4. Click Add condition to define your segment based on inactivity criteria.
  5. From the drop-down menu, select a category for the condition.
  6. Select Message not opened as the action from the drop-down menu.
  7. Click Any message to apply the condition across all messages.
  8. Select the timeframe for the inactivity period.
  9. Click Apply to run the search and generate your filtered results.
  10. Name your segment and click Save to store the filtered list.
  11. Go to the Segments tab and select the segment you created for inactive contacts.
  12. Go to the Actions menu and click the vertical ellipsis.
  13. Select Delete from list from the actions menu.
  14. Confirm the action by clicking Yes, delete them to remove the inactive contacts.
  15. Your email list is now cleaned, improving deliverability and overall campaign performance.

📌 Why this matters

Maintaining a clean email list in GetResponse is essential for protecting your sender reputation and maximizing email deliverability. Inactive subscribers who never open your messages lower your engagement rates and can trigger spam filters, harming every campaign you send. By regularly segmenting and removing unengaged contacts using GetResponse's Advanced Search and bulk-delete tools, you ensure your list consists only of genuinely interested recipients. This directly improves open rates, click-through rates, and the overall return on your email marketing investment.
