Quick summary
Organization-Wide Defaults (OWD) in Salesforce control the baseline record access level for all users across your org. To check OWD, navigate to Setup via the gear icon, open Advanced Setup, and locate the Sharing Settings page.
Steps
- Click the gear icon at the top-right of your Salesforce dashboard to open the setup menu.
- Select Open Advanced Setup from the dropdown options.
- In the Quick Find search box, type and select Sharing Settings.
- At the top of the Sharing Settings page, review the table displaying your Organization-Wide Defaults (OWD) details.
