Quick summary
Object access in Salesforce controls what data users can read, create, edit, or delete — and is managed through Permission Sets in Advanced Setup. Checking object-level permissions helps admins enforce least-privilege access and maintain data security compliance.
Steps
- Click the gear icon at the top-right of your Salesforce dashboard to open the Settings menu.
- Select Open Advanced Setup from the dropdown to enter the Setup console.
- In the Quick Find search box, type and select Permission Sets to navigate to the Permission Sets list.
- Select a permission set from the list to open its detail page.
- In the Apps section, click Object Settings to view object-level access for that permission set.
- Select the object whose permissions you want to inspect.
- Review the object permissions, including read, create, edit, delete, view all, and modify all access levels.
