How to Check Dynamic Dashboard Limit in Salesforce

Use this interactive demo to learn how to verify your Salesforce dynamic dashboard limit in a few clicks.

Quick summary

Salesforce enforces a dynamic dashboard limit per org, and attempting to save a dashboard in dynamic mode is the fastest way to check whether that limit has been reached. This demo walks you through enabling Dynamic Dashboard mode and testing your org's remaining capacity directly inside Salesforce.

Steps

  1. Click the App Launcher in the top menu of your dashboard.
  2. Scroll down and select Dashboards from the app list.
  3. Choose a dashboard to open.
  4. Click Edit in the top-right of the page.
  5. Select the gear icon in the editor toolbar.
  6. Scroll down to the View Dashboard As section and choose The Dashboard Viewer to enable Dynamic Dashboard mode.
  7. Click Save to apply the Dynamic Dashboard setting.
  8. Click the Save button again in the editor page to confirm the changes.
  9. Review the result: if your org has remaining dynamic dashboard capacity, it saves successfully; if the limit is reached, Salesforce displays an error.

📌 Why this matters

Salesforce enforces a per-org cap on dynamic dashboards, and exceeding that limit causes save errors that can block reporting workflows. Knowing how to quickly check your dynamic dashboard limit helps Salesforce admins proactively manage org capacity and avoid disruption. This demo matters because it shows the exact steps to test whether your org can still create dynamic dashboards without requiring access to Setup or admin-only reports. Teams evaluating Salesforce governance and reporting scalability will find this process essential for capacity planning.
