How to Cancel Tax Return in TurboTax

You cannot cancel a tax return once it has been e‑filed. You can completely erase the return as long as you haven’t paid the tax fee. Here’s how to do it:

1. This deletes all entered data and lets you restart.
2. Once you're in, navigate to the "Tax Home" section where all your returns are listed.
3. Go to "Tax Tools" found in the left menu.
4. Choose and select "Tools".
5. Select "Clear & Start Over" from the lists.
6. Hit "I want to clear my tax data" to continue.
7. To confirm, click "Yes, clear my tax data". This deletes all entered data and lets you restart.
