Dropbox Backup lets you automatically back up folders from your computer or external hard drive to the cloud. Setting it up takes just a few clicks from the Dropbox Preferences menu on Mac or Windows.
Steps
- Click the Dropbox Icon in your menu bar to open the Dropbox desktop app.
- Click your avatar or initials in the upper right of the Dropbox window.
- Click Preferences from the dropdown menu.
- Click the Backups tab in the Preferences panel.
- Click Manage backups to open the backup setup screen.
- Under Add a backup, select the computer or external hard drive you want to back up.
- Click Let's get started (for a computer) or Back up [drive name] (for an external hard drive).
- Check the boxes next to the folders you want to include in the backup.
- Click Set up to confirm your folder selections.
- If you are on a Mac, click Allow when prompted to grant Dropbox access to your folders.
