How to Back Up HubSpot Deals and Pipelines

Use this interactive demo to learn how to back up your HubSpot deals and pipelines.

Backing up HubSpot deals and pipelines allows you to export your data into a file for safekeeping or reporting.

Log in to your HubSpot account and navigate to your main dashboard.
Click CRM menu and select Deals from the dropdown menu.
Click Export to start pulling your deal data into a downloadable file.
Confirm the export by clicking Export again—you'll get an email when it's ready.
Wait for the email notification and then download your backup file.

📌 Why this matters

Backing up your deals and pipelines creates a safety net against accidental deletions, system outages, or data corruption that could wipe out months of sales work. Beyond protection, exported deal data becomes incredibly valuable for advanced analysis in Excel or other tools where you can create custom reports, perform complex calculations, and share insights with stakeholders who don't have CRM access. You also maintain ownership of your sales history if you ever switch platforms or need to provide historical data for audits or legal requirements.
