Use this interactive demo to learn how to attach and schedule a video in a Buffer post.

Quick summary

Buffer lets you add videos to social media posts directly from the post editor by uploading or dragging and dropping a file. Once your video is attached, you can schedule the post, share it immediately, or add it to your queue across any connected channel.

Steps

  1. Click on the Channels tab and choose the social media account where you want to post.
  2. Click on New Post to open the post editor.
  3. Enter your text, hashtags, links, or mentions in the post editor.
  4. Click the image icon or drag and drop a video into the post editor to attach your file.
  5. Click the dropdown arrow next to Add to Queue to reveal additional scheduling options.
  6. Click Share Now, Share Next, or Schedule Post to publish your video post.
  7. Your post is now ready to go live at the selected time.

📌 Why this matters

Adding videos to social media posts significantly boosts engagement, and Buffer makes the process fast and straightforward from a single dashboard. Marketers and creators can upload or drag-and-drop video content directly into the Buffer post editor, then choose to share immediately, queue it, or schedule it for an optimal time. This end-to-end video publishing workflow — covering channel selection, caption writing, media upload, and scheduling — eliminates the need to switch between tools. Buffer's multi-channel scheduling with video support helps teams maintain a consistent, high-performing content calendar across all major social platforms.
