This demo walks you through how to log a SMS Global Action in Salesforce by creating a new Global Action and adding it to a Publisher Layout so it appears in the Lightning Experience and Mobile actions bar.
Steps
- Click the gear icon in the top-right menu of your Salesforce dashboard.
- Select Open Advanced Setup from the dropdown.
- In the Quick Find search bar, type and select Global Actions.
- Click New Action to begin creating your global action.
- Set Action Type to Log a Call (or SMS if available), set the Label, and fill in any additional required details.
- Click Save to save the new global action.
- Click the gear icon again in the top menu to return to Setup.
- Select Open Advanced Setup once more.
- In the Setup search bar, search for and select Publisher Layouts.
- Open the desired layout by clicking Edit, or create a new one by clicking New.
- Drag Log a Call into the Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Experience Actions section.
- Click Save to apply your changes to the Publisher Layout.
