Quick summary

Adding images to Buffer posts lets you create visually engaging social media content and schedule it across multiple platforms from a single dashboard. This step-by-step walkthrough covers everything from selecting a channel to publishing or queuing your image post.

Steps

  1. Click on the Channels tab and choose the social media account where you want to post.
  2. Click on New Post to open the post editor.
  3. Enter your text, hashtags, links, or mentions in the post editor.
  4. Click the image icon or drag and drop an image into the post editor.
  5. Upload multiple images if needed — supported on select platforms.
  6. Click the dropdown arrow next to Add to Queue to reveal additional scheduling options.
  7. Click Share Now, Share Next, or Schedule Post to publish your content.
  8. Your post is now ready to go live at the selected time.

📌 Why this matters

Adding images to social media posts significantly increases engagement, reach, and click-through rates across platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, and X. Buffer's post editor lets users upload single or multiple images, write captions with hashtags and mentions, and choose flexible publishing options — all from one unified dashboard. This makes Buffer an essential tool for social media managers and content creators who need to schedule visually rich posts efficiently. By streamlining the image upload and scheduling workflow, Buffer reduces the time spent managing multiple social accounts manually.
