Quick summary
This demo shows how to integrate Microsoft Teams with Google Chat using a Zapier automation, so messages sent in Teams are automatically forwarded to Google Chat in real time. By setting up this cross-platform messaging Zap, teams using both platforms can stay in sync without switching apps or copying messages manually.
Steps
- Log in to Zapier, click "Create", and select "Zaps" to begin building your automation.
- Click "Trigger" to start configuring the trigger step of your Zap.
- Search for Microsoft Teams and select it as your trigger app.
- Choose a trigger event, such as "New Channel Message" or "New Team Mention", to define what activates the Zap.
- Connect your Microsoft Teams account and select the specific team and channel you want to monitor.
- Add Google Chat as the Action App in the next step of your Zap.
- Select an action event, such as "Create Message", to define what happens in Google Chat.
- Connect your Google Chat account to authorize Zapier to send messages on your behalf.
- Map the Teams message fields — such as message text and sender name — to the corresponding Google Chat message fields.
- Run a test to verify that Teams messages are correctly sent to Google Chat.
- Click "Publish" to activate your Zap and enable the live cross-platform integration.
