Use this interactive demo to learn how to create and customize wireframes directly in Figma.

Quick summary

Figma's wireframing workflow lets designers quickly access wireframe templates from the Community library, open them in the editor, and customize frames, components, and assets before sharing the finished design with teammates. This step-by-step process reduces design setup time and keeps mobile UI layouts consistent across your team.

Steps

  1. In the top navigation bar, hover over Design Resources and select Wireframes from the dropdown options.
  2. Choose the specific wireframe template you want to use from the available options.
  3. Click Open in Figma to load the selected template into the Figma editor.
  4. In the left-side panel, open a page to begin customizing the template.
  5. Edit each frame individually — update texts, objects, components, and other elements to match your requirements.
  6. To add or replace an asset, navigate to the bottom section and use the menu to make your desired changes.
  7. Use the right-side panel to access basic formatting settings and customize the design of assets to your liking.
  8. When finished, click Share in the top-right corner to send the wireframe output to your team members.

📌 Why this matters

Wireframing in Figma gives product designers and UX teams a fast, structured way to plan mobile and web interfaces using ready-made community templates. By starting from a pre-built wireframe UI kit, teams skip the blank-canvas setup and jump straight into customizing layouts, components, and assets. Figma's real-time sharing and formatting tools ensure that wireframes stay aligned with design standards and are instantly accessible to collaborators. This makes Figma one of the most efficient wireframing tools available for teams that need to move from concept to feedback quickly.
