Quick summary
Descript's voice cloning feature lets you create a personalized AI speaker by recording a short script, then use that clone to generate speech from any written text inside your projects. Once set up, you can assign your voice clone to any project and preview the output instantly with the built-in play button.
Steps
- Navigate to "AI Speakers" on the left-hand side of the Descript window.
- Click "+ New speaker" to begin creating your voice clone.
- Enter a name for your new AI speaker and click "Confirm."
- Record yourself reading the provided script as prompted.
- Choose to "Re-record" or "Submit" your recording.
- Go to an existing project or create a new one.
- Assign the project to your voice clone.
- Write a script manually or generate one with AI.
- Click the play button to have Descript convert the text into speech using your cloned voice.
