Quick summary
Starting a sprint in Jira takes just a few steps from the Backlog view of your scrum board. Configure your sprint details — name, dates, and goal — then click Start to activate your team's workflow.
Steps
- In your Jira scrum board, go to the top menu bar and click Backlog.
- Find the sprint you want to start and review the work items under it, making any necessary adjustments.
- Click the Start Sprint button once you are ready to proceed.
- Fill out the required input fields: Sprint Name, Duration, Start Date, End Date, and Sprint Goal.
- Click Start to confirm and launch the sprint.
- Your Jira Sprint is now active based on your configuration.
