Use this interactive demo to learn how to star and favorite reports in Power BI Service.

Quick summary

The Power BI Favorites feature lets you star any report or dashboard for instant access from the Favorites tab. Using the three-dot menu or the star icon next to a title, you can bookmark key content in Power BI Service in seconds.

Steps

  1. Open Power BI Service in your browser and navigate to the target Report or Dashboard.
  2. Click the three-dot menu on the report or dashboard card and select Favorite to star it.
  3. Look for the star icon that appears next to the report title and click on it to confirm the favorite.
  4. Once starred, navigate to the Favorites tab in the left-hand sidebar.
  5. Access your Favorites collection to quickly navigate between your most important reports and dashboards.

📌 Why this matters

The Power BI Favorites feature solves a critical productivity challenge for data teams and business users who manage large numbers of reports and dashboards. By starring key reports, users can instantly access their most-used content without searching through workspaces, reducing navigation time and keeping critical insights front and center. This is especially valuable in enterprise environments where dozens of dashboards exist across multiple workspaces. Mastering the Favorites workflow in Power BI Service helps analysts and decision-makers stay focused on the data that drives action.
