How to Uninstall Power BI

Use this interactive demo to learn the step-by-step process for uninstalling Power BI from your system.

Here’s how to do it:

Let's start by clicking the Windows search bar in the taskbar.
Type 'Power BI Desktop' into the search field to locate the application.
Click the arrow icon to open options.
Choose 'Uninstall'.

📌 Why this matters

Uninstalling Power BI frees up significant disk space since the application includes heavy data processing components and cached files. You might need to remove it before installing a different version, switching to Power BI Service exclusively, or troubleshooting persistent crashes.

Beyond basic removal, this process clears embedded Windows registry entries that can interfere with other Microsoft Office applications.
