Quick summary
Splitting a Jira ticket lets agile teams divide oversized work items into smaller, manageable tasks directly from the scrum board backlog. Using the built-in Split Feature, you can create multiple new work items with individual summaries and story point estimates in just a few clicks.
Steps
- In your Jira scrum board, find the ticket you want to split and click the More Actions button next to it.
- Select Split Feature from the list of available options.
- Enter the Summary and Story Point Estimate for the new work item in their respective input fields.
- To add more work items, click Add Another and repeat the same steps for each additional item.
- Once all work items are configured, click the Split button to proceed.
- The selected Jira ticket in your scrum board will be split according to your configuration.
