Use this interactive demo to learn how to create and save reusable hashtag groups in Buffer.

Quick summary

Buffer's hashtag group feature lets social media managers save frequently used hashtags as reusable groups, eliminating the need to retype them for every post. You can create, name, and store multiple hashtag groups directly inside the Buffer publishing panel for faster, more consistent social media scheduling.

Steps

  1. Inside Buffer's Create Post panel, find and highlight the group of hashtags you frequently use in your social media posts.
  2. Right-click on the selected text and tap 'Copy'.
  3. Click the Hashtag icon located below the upload tab to open the hashtag manager.
  4. In the right-hand corner, click 'Create Hashtag Group' to start a new group.
  5. Enter a unique name for your hashtag group in the provided input field.
  6. Tap the 'Hashtag Group Content' box and paste the copied hashtags from your post.
  7. Click 'Save Hashtag Group' to store the group for future use.
  8. Your frequently used hashtags are now saved and ready to apply to any future post.

📌 Why this matters

Manually retyping hashtags for every social media post wastes time and risks inconsistency across campaigns. Buffer's hashtag group feature solves this by letting users save, name, and reuse sets of hashtags directly within the publishing workflow. This is especially valuable for social media managers and content teams who post across multiple channels and need to maintain a consistent hashtag strategy at scale. By storing hashtag groups inside Buffer, teams can significantly speed up post creation while ensuring every piece of content reaches the right audience.
