How to Refresh LastPass Vault

Use this interactive demo to learn how to refresh your LastPass vault.

‍

If your LastPass vault isn't showing recent changes or appears out of sync, for example, a team member updated shared credentials, but the changes aren't reflecting on your end, you can force a manual sync directly from the browser extension.

Notes:

  • This is useful after making bulk changes to your vault, accepting a shared password, or resolving a sync issue after a plan upgrade.
  • Refreshing your vault does not delete or overwrite any saved data; it only pulls the latest version of your vault from LastPass servers.
  1. Click the LastPass icon in your browser toolbar and select the Account tab.
  2. Go to Fix a problem yourself, then click Refresh your vault.
  3. Once the sync completes, click Back, log out of LastPass, and log back in to confirm your vault is up to date.

📌 Why this matters

Refreshing your vault ensures you're working with the most current passwords and shared credentials, preventing login failures and security gaps when teammates make updates. Beyond basic syncing, this process resolves deeper synchronization conflicts that can occur during plan upgrades or when multiple team members edit the same entries simultaneously. Without manual refreshing, you might unknowingly use outdated credentials for critical systems, or miss newly shared passwords that colleagues expect you to have access to, creating bottlenecks in collaborative workflows.
