Use this interactive demo to learn how to add personalized greeting tags to your emails.

Quick summary

Personalizing emails in Constant Contact uses greeting tags to automatically address recipients by name, improving open rates and engagement. You can insert a First Name, Last Name, or First & Last Name tag directly inside the email editor in just a few clicks.

Steps

  1. In the Constant Contact email editor, select the text block and place your cursor where you want to insert the greeting tag.
  2. In the floating menu bar, click Insert.
  3. Choose Greeting Tag from the list of options.
  4. Enter your preferred email salutation into the input field.
  5. Open the drop-down menu and select your preferred personalized tag: First Name, First & Last Name, or Last Name.
  6. Click Insert to apply the greeting tag to your email.
  7. Your Constant Contact email is now personalized with the newly added greeting tag.

📌 Why this matters

Email personalization is one of the most effective ways to boost open rates and drive engagement in email marketing campaigns. Constant Contact's greeting tag feature lets marketers automatically address each recipient by name — without manually editing every email. This saves time, reduces errors, and makes every subscriber feel individually valued. For small businesses and growing teams, this level of automated personalization directly translates to higher click-through rates and stronger customer relationships.
