Use this interactive demo to learn how to make your Microsoft Forms public and share them with others.

‍

‍

To make your Microsoft Form public, you need to adjust the permission settings so that people outside of your organization (like potential customers or external leads) can access and submit it without needing to sign in. Follow these steps to set it up:

‍

  1. On your Microsoft 365 main dashboard, click the App launcher (grid icon) in the upper-left corner.
  2. From the app list, select Forms to open Microsoft Forms.
  3. Click New Form button to create a new one, or open an existing form.
  4. Click the Collect responses button in the top-right corner.
  5. Toggle Anyone can respond for full public access.
  6. Before sharing, ensure the Shorten URL box is checked to make the link look more professional for public sharing.

📌 Why this matters

Making your forms public transforms them from internal surveys into powerful lead generation and customer feedback tools. You can embed them on websites, share them in marketing campaigns, or distribute them across social media without forcing potential respondents to create Microsoft accounts.

This removes the biggest barrier to form completion - the sign-in requirement that causes most external users to abandon forms immediately. Public forms also integrate seamlessly with your existing Microsoft ecosystem while appearing completely accessible to outsiders.
