Quick summary
A hanging indent in PowerPoint on Mac is created using the Ruler tool to offset continuation lines from the first line of a text block. This technique is commonly used for bibliographies, bullet lists, and citations in presentation slides.
Steps
- Go to the View tab in PowerPoint on Mac.
- Check the box next to Ruler to display the ruler at the top of the slide.
- Click the text you want to modify to place your cursor inside the text box.
- Click and drag the bottom triangle (the Left Indent marker) to the right to define how far your continuation text lines will be indented.
- Click and drag only the top triangle back to the left margin to pull the very first line of your text back to the start, completing the hanging indent.
