This demo walks you through creating a timeline in Google Slides using the built-in Line and Shape tools, without any third-party add-ons. You will learn how to draw a timeline line, add milestone shapes, label each event with a text box, and apply fill colours to produce a presentation-ready timeline slide.
Steps
- In the top toolbar, click the Line icon to activate the line drawing tool.
- Click and drag across the slide to draw the main timeline line.
- In the top toolbar, click the Shape icon to open the shape menu.
- Hover over Shapes, Arrows, or Callouts in the dropdown menu to browse available options.
- Choose a circle, rectangle, or another shape to represent each timeline point.
- Place the shapes at evenly spaced positions along the timeline line.
- Double-click each shape or add a text box to type the dates, milestones, or events.
- In the top menu, click Fill colour to open the colour picker.
- Choose your desired colours to finish customizing your timeline.
- Your timeline is now ready to customise and present.
