Quick summary
Starting a sprint in Jira moves backlog items into an active sprint so your team can begin tracking work in real time. From the Backlog view, you can configure sprint details and launch it in just a few clicks.
Steps
- In your Jira scrum board, go to the top navigation bar and click Backlog.
- Find the sprint you want to activate and click the Start Sprint button.
- Fill in all required sprint details: Sprint Name, Duration, Start Date, End Date, and Sprint Goal.
- Click Start to confirm and launch the sprint.
- The sprint is now active and will remain running until all work items are completed.
