Quick summary
Converting a private Slack channel to public takes just a few clicks inside the channel's Settings tab. Only workspace owners have permission to change a channel's visibility from private to public.
Steps
- Click on the channel you wish to make public in the Slack sidebar.
- Click on the channel name located in the conversation header to open its details.
- Choose the Settings tab within the channel details panel.
- Select 'Change to public channel' and re-confirm the action — note that only workspace owners can complete this change.
