Steps
- Go to the Insert tab in the PowerPoint ribbon.
- Click Shapes located in the Illustrations section of the Insert tab.
- Choose a rectangle shape from the shapes menu.
- Click and draw the rectangle onto your slide.
- Right-click the shape and select Format Shape from the context menu.
- In the sidebar, ensure you are under the Fill section (the paint bucket icon).
- Click the arrow down button on Fill to expand fill options.
- Select Solid Fill from the fill type options.
- Adjust the Transparency percentage (e.g., 50%) to make the color box see-through.
