Quick summary
Linking a video to an image in Google Slides lets presenters make slides interactive by turning any image into a clickable video shortcut. This method works with YouTube, Google Drive, and other video sources using the built-in link tool.
Steps
- Open your presentation in Google Slides.
- Select the image you want to add a link to.
- While the image is selected, click the link icon on the top toolbar.
- In the link box, paste the video link from YouTube, Google Drive, or another video source.
- Click Apply to save the link.
- Confirm the video link appears under your image.
- Click Slideshow to test the image link in presentation mode.
- Move your cursor over the image — it should change to a hand cursor. Click the image to verify the video opens correctly.
