Use this interactive demo to learn how to revoke a collaborator's access in Google Slides.

Quick summary

To remove someone from Google Slides, open the Share menu, find the collaborator, and select Remove access from their permission dropdown. This immediately revokes their ability to view or edit your Google Slides presentation.

Steps

  1. In the top-right corner, click Share.
  2. In the sharing window, find the person you want to remove.
  3. Click the dropdown beside their name or email address.
  4. Select Remove access from the dropdown menu.
  5. Click Save to confirm the change.
  6. The person will no longer be able to open or edit your Google Slides presentation.

📌 Why this matters

Controlling who has access to your Google Slides presentations is essential for protecting sensitive content and maintaining document security. The ability to quickly remove a collaborator — without deleting the file or changing its visibility — gives presenters and team leads precise, real-time control over sharing permissions. This feature matters because accidental or outdated access can lead to unauthorized edits or data leaks in shared workspaces. Knowing exactly how to revoke access in Google Slides helps individuals and organizations enforce least-privilege sharing practices.
