This demo shows how to integrate Notion with Gmail using Zapier by building an automated Zap that creates or updates a Notion database item every time a specified Gmail trigger fires. Once published, the automation runs in the background, keeping your Notion workspace in sync with your inbox without any manual effort.
Steps
- Click 'Create' and select 'Zaps' to start building a new automation for Notion with Gmail.
- Click the 'Trigger' button to begin setting up your Zap's trigger step.
- Select 'Gmail' as your trigger app.
- Choose a trigger event such as 'New Email' or 'New Labeled Email'.
- Click 'Sign in' to connect your Gmail account and grant Zapier access.
- Choose your Google account to continue the OAuth connection to Zapier.
- Click 'Allow' to confirm and grant Zapier access to your Gmail account.
- If needed, click 'Change' to swap the Gmail account linked to Zapier.
- Specify the trigger conditions and confirm the Gmail trigger settings.
- Select 'Notion' as the action app for your Zap.
- Confirm that a new Notion database item will be created or updated based on the Gmail trigger.
- Click 'Change' if you need to adjust Zapier's access through your Notion account.
- Verify that the Notion database item action is correctly mapped to the Gmail trigger data.
- Confirm Zapier can retrieve data from Gmail, then click 'Publish' to save the Zap.
- Toggle the Zap to 'On' to activate the automation and start syncing Gmail with Notion.
