Use this interactive demo to learn how to integrate your Dynamics 365 account with Outlook for seamless data synchronization.

‍

‍

Dynamics 365 integrates with Outlook using the Dynamics 365 App for Outlook. This add‑in lets you track emails, appointments, and view CRM data directly inside Outlook. Here’s how to do it:

‍

  1. To start the integration between Dynamics 365 and Outlook you need to access the 'App Settings'.
  2. Scroll down to 'App Extensions and select 'Partner Apps'.
  3. Browse for Dynamics 365 App for Outlook and click 'Get it now'.
  4. Select an environment and accept the terms and conditions by clicking the check box.
  5. Once done, click 'Install'.
  6. Go to the 'Environments' menu.
  7. Select 'Sales trial' as your environment if you're in a free trial.
  8. Navigate to 'Settings' from the menu above.
  9. Select 'Users + permissions'.
  10. Then, select 'Users'.
  11. Choose a user for your outlook
  12. Click 'Manage user in Dynamics 365'.
  13. Now, select 'Approve Email'.
  14. Once you have approved the email, click 'Open Mailbox'.
  15. Then, finally select 'Test and Enable mailbox' to start integrating Dynamics 365 to Outlook.

📌 Why this matters

This integration transforms Outlook from just an email client into your primary sales workspace. You can track customer interactions, schedule follow-ups, and access deal histories without switching between applications.

The real advantage emerges when your entire sales process flows through one interface—every email becomes part of your customer's permanent record, and meeting notes automatically sync with opportunity records. This creates a seamless workflow where administrative tasks happen automatically in the background while you focus on building relationships.
